i have been doing a litle research on opiates and came across a few “synthetic” ones. Does that mean synthetic ones are fake such as methadone etc etc. Now would these “synthetic” show up in urine test for opiates?? im confused.. lol

well, synthetic would not mean “fake” but made in a laboratory instead of being naturally made from opium… now, if the molecule is exactly the same, it would sure show up in a test, unless some change is made…

Synthetic opioids are ones which have been created by medicinal chemists rather than extracted from the seeds of the opium poppy. Semi-synthetic opioids are natural compounds which have been altered slightly.
Some examples:
Natural – morphine, codeine
Synthetic – fentanyl, methadone, tramadol
Semi-synthetic – oxycodone, hydrocodone
ALL of these types will show up in a drugs test.
