Also how long does it take for the results of the drug test to come back? And do patients get them on site or in the mail?

Hello, I am 30 years old and have been addicted to pain medication for about 10 years. Over this time i have let it ruin my relationship with my family. I have also abandoned all of my freinds. I have a good job and try to hide this addiction on a daily basis but i think everone around my knows its obvious. I am constantly breaking out and i have scars all over my face from the itching and scratching these pills cause. I feel like i am never going to recover. I get paid on Friday and go right to my dealer and spend 90 percent of it on pills. I cannot stop. I just like to much how i feel and how great everything is when i am high. I have had times when i have gone 3 months without anything but during that time i felt lifeless and lost. Not wanting or caring about anything. Now i have a big problem. I am trying to find a clinic to do a daily therapy like methadone or seboxone. But the only clinics are in the other side of the city and it is impossible to get there. I found a clinic 10 minutes away in another county but they don’t accept out of county patients. I don’t understand, I feel like no one wants to help me or cares about going the extra mile. If i keep up i will overdose 1 day and die. I need help and i am ready to live my life but i am lost. Does anyone have any advise?

Her first day she out of nowhere calls me and tells me she feels strongly that I need to be weened from the lortab…I am a dutiful patient and said okay, figuring it had come from the doctor. She goes into this long drawn out story about how she used to work in a rehab center and how I reminded her of this woman who ended up shooting heroine in the bathroom at work when they tried to break her addition to hydrocodone…I found it bizare that she felt compelled to tell me this story but figured she was just bored. She asked me if I would like a script for methadone to get over my addiction. I told her I did not have an addiction, I had pain, but I was willing to try the weening and no I did not need methadone. Well that for some reason pissed her off enough to tell the receptionist to forward all calls from me to her. So when I called for my one year follow-up they transferred me to her and she started screaming at me you are not getting any more hydrocodne from me or this office so until I feel you are ready. I told her that I was calling to make an appointment not for a refill. She told me everything I did was to go through her and there was no point in me making another appointment for surgery just to get more hydrocodne as she could assure me I would not get any after surgery. I know doctors are regulated under the department of professional regulations but who regulates nutbag secretarys? I would hate to have to report the doctor to DPR because he has really bad office staff but what else can I do? I am off the hydrocodone and have to deal with extreme pain but I was off of it two weeks before she suggested I be because she had me scared to death I was going to become a heroine addict!! I am not one to make waves but this doctor deals with extreme trauma cases and I shudder to think what she might be doing to some of the other patients most of who are elderly! Also my general practicianer says I should be on pain meds until the plate is out because my level of pain now will cause me to not get proper exercise and it could cause my should muscles to atrophie. He offered to write me a script but I told him I would wait until my appointment because I am actually affraid of this woman. What would you do? Again I apologize for the lenghth of the question!

hello, my doc has me on 90mgs of oxycodone, the regimen is 15mg 6x daily, 180 tabs a month. ive been on this stuff for 2yrs and my condition/2 herniated discs/L 5/S1 has deteriorated considerably now to the point that he speculates that not only do i suffer from degenerative disc disease in the lumbar area/shooting pain in legs to now having disc issues in the cervical area. i recently started having shooting pain in my arms/hands which is why hes sending me out for an mri etc. im certain that the new mri will show cervical hernations has im having incredible nerve pain from hell. i have mentioned this nerve pain and the fact that the medication tolerance is maybe an issue and i asked for an increase or different medication. he offered methadone/morphine fentanyl patches etc. i was on 80mg of oxycontin daily but it did not work. i have never asked for an increase in meds, in fact i asked to be taken off of oxycontin a year ago etc. now that i have a miserable day to life in pain and reduced productivity ( own a business) im desperate to get it under control. i had to increase the useage of my pain meds and will run short before my appointment etc. i dont know what to do as the doctors assistant says just ask for an increase in the meds, when i do, he blows me off saying that he doesnt want to increase the meds etc. the crazy thing is, there are bums, patients that are going their with no legit health issues, and they get 3x as much medication! chronic pain is ruining my life, i just feel like im in a racquet where the doc doesnt care! ive done my homework, is it out of line to request 80mg oxycontin tabs 2 x day with some other meds for breakthrough pain? i have to get my life back, but i hate selling out to take pain meds and the side effects, its sucks! dont know what to do as they doc talks about politics and vacations and im in pain! he doesnt here me….. ANY ADVICE?

This drug is new to me. I haven’t heard much about it. The only things that I do know about it are the things I have read on the internet. I am willing to give it a chance. I’ve been on methadone program before and it worked. It just became too expensive. I was able to get off methadone and kept clean for 4 months. Unfortunately, I recently relapsed. My new doctor only prescribes suboxone for heroin addicts. This is my second week on my medication, and isn’t working the same way methadone did for me. My cravings are unbelievable. I’m an emotional wreck and highly irritable. I know my second week on methadone was completely different. My cravings had subdued and I wasn’t as emotional. I feel helpless at the moment. There aren’t any methadone clinics in my area accepting new patients at this time, and my doctor only prescribes suboxone for heroin addicts. I am trying to stay as positive as possible, and remind myself that I am doing the right thing. But each day seems to get harder. I just wanted to know if anyone else has been through the same thing. For example, anyone else who had a hard time while taking suboxone. Are these cravings and waves of emotions going to subside or is this medication not working for me? I’m not trying to give up on suboxone, but I know this isn’t how I felt when I was on the methadone program. I have read that suboxone is highly recommended and people say it is easier to get off of when compared to methadone. BUT I don’t want to get off of it. I realize that I have an opiate dependency. I want to repair that part of my brain. And methadone was working. I wish I would have stayed on it, but I couldn’t afford it at the time. And when I stopped taking methadone, I was able to deal with the detox by weening myself off of it slowly. With this said, does anyone knows how to find a private doctor who will prescribe methadone. I know that works and I am willing to stay on the program this time no matter the amount of money. The last thing I want to do is continue to be a junkie. I have accepted that I will always be an addict, but I would like to be a recovering one from now on. Any suggestions? Advice?
