Difference Between Amphetamine and Methamphetamine on a DRUG TEST?

Question by Garret Lindsey: Difference between amphetamine and methamphetamine ON A DRUG TEST?
I am wanting to buy a bunch of drug test online in bulk for a certain individual (let’s say bob). And since I can’t customize my own test with bobs drugs of choice i am forced to buy a five panel with cocaine, opiates, benzo’s, THC, and amphetamine. But bob does both amphetamines and methamphetamine. But since I am limited on my finances I couldn’t buy one with both. So my question is IF he smoked meth would it show positive on the amphetamine. I couldn’t find this answer anywhere I just found that if amphetamine was taken it wouldn’t show in the meth category

In general (keep in mind ALL drug testing is different) an amphetamine test will be positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine and in some cases MDMA (ecstasy). So use of either amphetamine or methamphetamine will result in a positive test.

A methamphetamine test will NOT (generally speaking) detect amphetamine, only methamphetamine. Often a methamphetamine test is available in addition to an amphetamine test because it can be important to know if the drug used was specifically methamphetamine.

So it would be important to test for both amphetamine and methamphetamine if you need to know more specifically what is being used.

There is a web site I have heard many good things about (I have no affiliation nor do I have any personal experience using the web site) that provides may varies of tests at great prices. You do have to buy in bulk (which you said you want to do).

Here, for example, is a link to a single test that detects marijuana (THC), cocaine, amphetamine, methamphetamine, and opiates. The price is $ 5.09 per test (minimum two tests).

Another good option is buying single panel tests for amphetamine, methamphetamine, and anything else you may want. A test that only tests for amphetamine costs $ 2.25 (minimum four tests). The single panel methamphetamine test costs slightly less at $ 2.23.

You could always get several amphetamine tests, if one comes up positive you can then use a methamphetamine test to find out if it is amphetamine or methamphetamine being used.

I also recommend you get at least a couple more comprehensive tests even if amphetamines were the only drugs “Bob” used. Often people switch substances and cocaine and MDMA in particular may be attractive alternatives to “Bob.” But in general I recommend more comprehensive testing on occasion- you certainly have a better idea what “Bob” might abuse but typically I recommend testing for, in addition to amphetamines- opiates, MDMA, marijuana, cocaine, benzodiazepines, and oxycodone. Some times it may also be worth testing for methadone, propoxyphene (although this is being removed from the American market), buprenorphine, barbiturates, or PCP.

So if you can, try to not only get some tests primarily for amphetamines but also a couple more comprehensive tests. The link I gave you for marijuana (THC), cocaine, amphetamine, methamphetamine, and opiates is probably a really good idea for at least occasional use especially if there is not a history of abusing prescription opioids, benzodiazepines, or barbiturates.

Finally keep in mind a few things

1) MDMA may be detected by an amphetamine test but often it will not be.
2) An “opiate” test, especially the most commonly used ones, will primary only detect morphine (and thus codeine and Heroin since both are metabolized to morphine). Often semisynthetic opioids like oxycodone, hydrocodone, oxymorphone, and hydromorphone are NOT detected, Synthetic opioids like methadone, propoxyphene, buprenorphine, fentanyl, or meperidine will not be detected at all.

Good luck
