pre-employment drug screens test for classes of drugs- so if you are on methadone you are going to get a positive in the “opiate” category.
They will not know if it was heroin, percocet, methadone, vicodin- whatever..
think of it like this- they are testing for soda- they don’t know if it was mr. pibb, mountain dew, or fanta that you had- they just know you’ve had some type of soda.
just because it comes out + doesn’t automatically mean your screwed. if you have a prescription or go to a clinic- you just tell them- get a doctor’s note saying “_______ is under my care and is currently taking methadone (dose & frequency)” end of story. but if any of the others classes show up like benzos or thc- you might be fcked.
there is another test that you would give after someone has tested positive for opiates that would break it down into the specific drug, but that is not a test used for screening.
