Question by amazed: What does oxycodone and oxycotin show up as on a drug test?
I always thought that pain killers (percocets, vicoden, and oxy’s) showed up as “Opiates”. I am looking to purchase at home drug tests for my significant other who has been clean now for 6 weeks. (I am very proud of him!) So I am looking to buy some online now to keep the cost down. I can buy them for less than $ 4 for a 4 panel test, as oppossed to $ 20 each at Walmart. But … with searching for the tests … I am now finding Opiates, and Oxycodone listed as seperate drugs. I don’t want to have to buy the 6 panel with the Oxycodone, as it costs more. And like I said, I always thought they all showed up as Opiates. Can anyone clarify this? Please?
Actually, I just remembered … the first test he took when I knew he was not clean showed positive for opiates, and that was from taking painkillers / and oxy’s. So I guess it does show up as opiates. Them listing oxycodone must be to get you to spend more money!! But if anyone still knows of a good website to purchase the 4 panel tests, I would greatly appreciate the assistance. pre-employment drug screens test for classes of drugs- so if you are on methadone you are going to get a positive in the “opiate” category.
They will not know if it was heroin, percocet, methadone, vicodin- whatever..

think of it like this- they are testing for soda- they don’t know if it was mr. pibb, mountain dew, or fanta that you had- they just know you’ve had some type of soda.

just because it comes out + doesn’t automatically mean your screwed. if you have a prescription or go to a clinic- you just tell them- get a doctor’s note saying “_______ is under my care and is currently taking methadone (dose & frequency)” end of story. but if any of the others classes show up like benzos or thc- you might be fcked.    Read more...

i have been doing a litle research on opiates and came across a few “synthetic” ones. Does that mean synthetic ones are fake such as methadone etc etc. Now would these “synthetic” show up in urine test for opiates?? im confused.. lol

well, synthetic would not mean “fake” but made in a laboratory instead of being naturally made from opium… now, if the molecule is exactly the same, it would sure show up in a test, unless some change is made…

Synthetic opioids are ones which have been created by medicinal chemists rather than extracted from the seeds of the opium poppy. Semi-synthetic opioids are natural compounds which have been altered slightly.

Some examples:

Natural – morphine, codeine
Synthetic – fentanyl, methadone, tramadol

methadose which is pretty much the same as methadone. they use it in methadone clinics, does that and methadone show up on a standard 5 panel test. i hear it doesn’t i’d just like to know the answer for sure tho. thank you
